At her first bleed a woman meets her power

During her bleeding years, she practices it

At menopause she becomes it

Menstrual Cycle tracking

I started my period age 9 and was given books to read (I was an avid reader) but no real explanation of what to expect. I was never told about the positive impact on your wellbeing and how our menstruation can be the inner guide to our health, happiness and living in flow.

It was only in 2018 that I started to learn about my cycle, after being on the contraceptive pill since 13, experiencing terrible heavy and painful bleeds that later was diagnosed as severe Endometriosis.

Tracking your cycle is the best gift you will give yourself. You will be able to plan when you are at your best and energetically able to do certain things and make the right decisions based upon your energy flow.

When you track your cycle, it helps you to become aware of your changing mood and the ever changing monthly energy levels, giving you the ability to plan when you do things and how to care for yourself at each stage of your cycle.

I liked to break down my monthly cycle into the quarter way points of the cyclical year as seasons, beginning with Winter.

Winter is the time of your bleed  and usually starts around a day or two before your bleed arrives until your bleed finishes. In winter, nature stops all production and rests, moves into stasis and stillness. If we can mirror these ideals, slowing down from the busyness of life, creating space for rest.

Spring is your pre ovulation time, that begins around day or 9 of your cycle. At this time you can start you feel a rise in your energy, the possibilities of being more social, making plans for the month ahead and you have that feeling of starting to want to say yes again.

Summer is when you are at the height of your cycle in ovulation and this is about day 14 or 15 of your cycle . You are in your full power and feel most ready to go out, see friends, make new acquaintances. Your libido is also increased at this time, feeling sexy and full of life.

Autumn is the week leading up to your bleed around day 19/20. You cans tart to feel your energy descending and the wanting to start to wind down. Emotions are often heightened at this time, words can get muddled, clumsiness and the impulsive nature to speak your truth.

It’s important to mention that we are all different and we all have different cyclical lengths. I have created a downloadable tracking document, which will help you to record your thoughts and feelings during each day of your cycle. Remembering the inner wisdom that exists within you opening you to new ways of being and feeling in flow with the life.

Within this way of tracking, you may also be interested in seed cycling which can also help you to naturally balance your hormones by ingesting the highly nutrional seeds and particular times each month. Read more here.
