soul food retreat
Women’s Soul-food retreat 2025
You are welcomed to the Women’s Soul-food retreat in Somerset from 16th -19th May 2025.
With a rooted wreath of connection to the land and her cycles, Jakki and Jess are coming together to provide a deeply nourishing, rich experience for women with their Soul-food retreat.
The retreat will offer a mineral, nutrient and memory rich soil where you will bed your roots deep, allow them to meander and intertwine with not only the other women there but the land herself and stretch through the waters of the great mother.
The spark that created the retreat was fired by joy, of connection to land, sisterhood and time to be with yourself, drumming, singing, crafting, in circle and with fire and water. Many of the simplicities we are born to experience in our human bodies.
During the Retreat you will be offered curated spaces which are held by Jakki and / or Jess: • Nature connection
• Sister circles
• Exploring parts of your stories and yourselves and the pleasure intimacy can bring
• Folk song and circle
• Drum journeys and drumming circle
• Ritual and ceremony
• Sauna ritual
• Sacred bathing
The site for the Women’s Soul-food retreat is an incredibly beautiful private setting. We will have access to the breathtaking spaces:
• Completely unobserved on the 25 acre site
• Exploration of waterfalls, grottos, a secret garden and ponds
• Wild swimming in one of the two beautiful spring fed ponds (half an acre)
• Access to the second pond which is devoted to wildlife preservation
• Use of a private wood fired sauna (one sauna a day provided and additional saunas available on request with additional wood required)
• Contrast therapy with cold plunge and shower
• Three hot tubs
• Near to Glastonbury, the Mendip hills and Cheddar Gorge should you wish to visit
• Space to explore and rest
• Paddleboarding
• Firepits
• A walled garden to explore
• A communal heated yurt space with power, to relax and rest or craft
• A horse-lorry reading room full of nature based books for you to go and explore and enjoy peace and reflection. All the books deepen the connection between nature and self.
• Many shared spaces to gather outside under canopies
Food You will be cooked nutritious homecooked food and we will eat communally. All your meals will be provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner). You may choose to bring snacks. Teas will be provided. Dietary needs will be honoured as needed.
There are currently only 2 spaces remaining
To book your space please contact Jess on WhatsApp 07702160914 or email jess@jessicaslender.co.uk
This promises to be a retreat full of wonder
May the women gather to be reborn

Singing Mamas taster session
A Singing Group for Woman -
Imagine this:
You walk in, and you’re welcomed with open arms, no matter how much sleep you’ve had, how frazzled you feel, or whether you’re running late.
For about an hour, we’ll sing uplifting songs chosen to boost your mood and help you feel good. No experience needed, if you can talk you can sing, all you need to do is just bring your voice!
After singing, as a group we take care of each other . A warm drink and a biscuit (or maybe some cake!) will be popped into your hand as we relax, chat, and connect with other mums. Meanwhile, the babies are free to play, making this a happy space for everyone.
All mums. All voices. All are welcome.
Our groups are often multigenerational. We welcome new mothers, mums with school-aged children, grandmothers, pregnant women, women without children of their own. The presence of women of all different life stages is one of our groups’ biggest assets.
This is a free taster session, so come along and see what it’s all about.
We can’t wait to meet you! 💕
